The big 70

All,

It has been quite some time since my last posting. Not too much to report. My dad and I are doing a little better in our relationship. However, it could be better. I still find it hard to interact with him without it becoming an argument or him loosing his temper. But this is not about me it is about him and his journey. So with that said...

This Saturday the 13th is my dad's 70th birthday! It should be a great time. My sister is flying in from California. This is the first time that she has been out here since he has been diagnosed. I anticipate some big emotions from both of them, but this should be a great time with many blessing. My aunt and uncle are coming down as well. We are having 2 birthday parties for him. One with my aunt, uncle and aunt's family. This will be fun for everyone. After that we are going to go to Dot's house for a birthday dinner. This will also be the first time that Amy's family meets mine. I am very excited to have an opportunity to get everyone together before the wedding. My dad know's that there is going to be a party, but does not know everyone that is coming. I believe that he thinks it is just Elizabeth, Dot, Amy and myself.

I know that I have not gotten a chance to keep up with many of you. Life has been crazy for me. In addition to getting engaged we are trying to buy our first house as well. I appreciate all of your prayers. If you get a chance please call my dad and wish him a happy birthday. I know that would mean a lot to him. I hope everyone is having a great start to summer. God bless and have a great week!

  1. Allen (From Frank the Warden). Just back from vacation. All is well with me and fellows. Well actually, I am recovering from eye surgery (detached retina). Glad to see you are still at it. Pls call or email Sonny's phone number, if you still have business card. Tell him that I said hello. Gauge from that if he remembers and a call would be welcomed and helpful. Congrats on walking the plank soon. I'll tell Shannon and all you are about to do it! Take care...Frank
